Lobster Tails and Bridges

Lobster Tails!

OHHH this heavenly pastry and a day in spent in Manhattan = my favorite things in New York.

If you've never had them before, I highly recommend you try them if you make your way to the east coast. Picture a freshly baked croissant; flaky crisp exterior and soft on the inside. Now imagine, instead of the soft bread inside of a croissant, think of the texture of a cruller, then think of that cruller being filled with light whipped cream... That is what a lobster tail pastry is. Heavenly (photo on the right).

We actually stumbled across Pasticceria Rocco on our way to Washington Square Park and low behold, lobster tails. I hear about them all the time on television series, The Cake Boss, yet I've never tried them. Now that I have tried it, I always rave about it!

If you're around the neighbourhood, definitely stop by the bakery, try out some Lobster Tails and all their other baked goods... (they have massive cookies there too!)

Manhattan, Brooklyn, and their Bridges

Okay, we got super lucky this day because the sun was shining, we managed to get in a bike ride at Central park and even watched Aladdin on Broadway... The best part of the day though was visiting Brooklyn Bridge.

We took the subway there, about a 25 min ride from Penn Station to High Street - Brooklyn Bridge Station. Once you get there, you want to cross the street into the Park, then turn left on Cadman Plaza E. If you keep walking down the street this leads you to the famous Instagram posts of Manhattan Bridge. From there you can make your up onto the Brooklyn Bridge (just follow signs or the tourists!)

We could have pretty much spent an entire day there because it was so nice, and the sun was setting, but there was still a lot to see, other than that, visiting the Brooklyn Bridge was definitely one of my favorite spots and highlights of the trip.
